About The Foundation

New Paragraph

What is the prospects athletics foundation?

Prospects Athletics Foundation (PAF, or Foundation) is dedicated to increasing student participation in the development of an integrated life skill set that is required for success during and after formal academic experiences have concluded. PAF accomplishes this mission through three specific programs: (1) awarding post-secondary academic scholarships, (2) increasing club athletic participation through tuition and travel assistance, and (3) supporting and/or operating community athletic programs that expand participation for all children at no cost.

There is no disagreement that in 2020, the world changed forever. PAF recognizes that today’s student-athletes also changed, not only in volume, but also in confidence about their futures and commitment to themselves and their community. Requisite skills for success include “teamwork, a strong work ethic, commitment, leadership, time management, and physical, [mental], and emotional health” (Cross and Foulke, 2019). Currently, PAF provides meaningful growth in these areas through student-athlete participation in club baseball and softball, and it believes that more students need to become student-athletes, and more student-athletes need to have the opportunity to develop these skills regardless of their ability to fund it.

Prospects Athletics Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates solely on financial support from its benefactors. The volunteer board of directors is led by a part-time executive director who serves as the Foundation’s only employee. The Foundation started as the Prospects Athletics Scholarship Foundation in 2019 with the isolated purpose of providing academic scholarships to graduating players from the NH Prospects Baseball Club and, after its introduction in 2021, from the NH Prospects Softball Club. While the need to provide academic scholarships remains high today, the Foundation recognized that other needs exist in the community and therefore expanded its mission while changing its name to better reflect its purpose.

Currently, the Foundation is in the process of building its endowment through a comprehensive development strategy consisting of several contemporary approaches. Over time, the Foundation will reduce the number of fundraiser activities and, instead, rely on relationships with individuals, families, foundations, and corporations that have been established through a system of shared values and beliefs. We hope that all of our Prospects Athletics family members - new, current, and alumni - will embrace this mission and help us achieve our funding goals so that we can build a stronger foundation for more student-athletes through this game that we love.

Our Board of Directors is made up of community volunteers who share the belief that all children should have equal opportunities to grow and flourish through organized youth athletics. Each board member is dedicated to supporting an environment where a child's growth and development can lead to a successful and productive future.
